Warrigal Run & Shale Hills Dog Parks Closure - Tuesday 6 September
Warrigal Run Dog Park and Shale Hills Dog Park will be closed on Tuesday 6th September 2022 while Western Sydney Parklands' contractors undertake a weed control program in turf areas which have regular patronage. Treatments are expected to be conducted within the day, weather permitting. Targeted weeds include Bindii, clover and broadleaf weeds.
Warrigal Run Dog Park and Shale Hills Dog Park will be closed for use with re-entry into the dog park permitted once the spray has dried. The area will be reopened under the discretion of the contractor.
Work will include:
The herbicide application will be undertaken as part of Greater Sydney Parklands’ annual turf renovation program and as per pesticide use notification plan, applying a registered chemical by appropriately trained and qualified staff. See Spearhead Technical Brochure for further information.
What to expect:
On Tuesday 6th September 2022, all gates to the dog parks will be locked during and following application to ensure no access is possible. We ask the community not to use these dog parks when this work is underway. Bungarribee Park and Shale Hills Loop will remain open for park visitors, so they can walk their dog(s) on a leash during this period.
All work will be in accordance with Western Sydney Parklands Trust Pesticide Use Notification Plan which is an extension of the Pesticides Act & Regulation. Signage will be in place at key entry points prior and post spraying.
The above program is subject to disruption or changes due to inclement weather, precinct operational requirements and unforeseen site conditions which will be subject of further notifications as required.
