Parklands Food Fest is back for 2019, with new chefs, new food and new entertainment for an all ages celebration of the homegrown on Saturday 7th September at Lizard Log, Abbotsbury, in Western Sydney Parklands.

Joining this year’s line-up is Australia’s most famous Spaniard in the kitchen, Miguel Maestre aka “The Crazy Bull”. Miguel is a celebrated chef and author with a host of television credits to his name including Boys Weekend and Channel 10’s The Living Room. As a food lover from a very young age, Miguel’s cooking style incorporates ingredients he grew up with in Murcia, the south of Spain, with the fabulous fresh produce of Australia.

Also headlining the attractions at this year’s Parklands Food Fest, will be award-winning pastry chef, Anna Polyviou. The energy levels will max out as Anna takes to the stage at Lizard Log. With her love of fabulous desserts, Anna creates a party atmosphere wherever she goes, and extraordinary sweet treats too.  Anna is the Executive Pastry Chef at the Shangri-La Hotel Sydney and is known for her unique take on desserts and appearances on TV shows like Family Food Fight and MasterChef Australia. Anna has revolutionised patisserie across Australia with her sell-out Dessert Degustations and High Teas, as well as her cookbook Sweet Street.

Both Miguel Maestre and Anna Polyviou will host live cooking demonstrations, featuring recipes inspired by fresh, local, seasonal produce from the Parklands’ own urban farming precinct. They’ll be joined by the best of Western Sydney's producers, farmers and local heroes including Skye Blackburn of The Edible Bug Shop, Australia’s first ‘farmer’ of edible insects, and Thai-Lao food stars Tona & Ketty Inthavong of Green Peppercorn restaurant in Fairfield and Blacktown.

Now in its eighth year, Parklands Food Fest is the flagship event for Western Sydney Parklands, also known as “Sydney’s Biggest Backyard”. The festival is a must-do for Sydney’s food lovers and features an array of food and drink stalls, market produce, free children’s activities, a bar serving up local brews and cocktails as well as live entertainment and a dedicated kids’ zone.

Join us for a day of food and fun for the whole family at Lizard Log Amphitheatre, in Abbotsbury on Saturday 7th September from 10am - 4pm. Entry is free. All you have to do is bring your appetite.

As Miguel himself would say, “It’s going to be AMAZING!”.
