Parklands Food Fest has secured another outstanding attraction for the September 8th event, announcing a live cooking demo by The Shahrouk Sisters, winners of Channel Nine’s 2017’s Family Food Fight.

The Sisters will join headline attraction – MasterChef Australia co-host, Matt Preston at Lizard Log park, Western Sydney Parklands, in Abbotsbury.

The Shahrouk Sisters have planned a new dish – a Food Fest-first – to be unveiled during their live cooking demonstration in the Homegrown Marquee.

The Shahrouks are four of ten sisters in a family of 11 children and hail from south western Sydney. Houda, Halla, Rouba and Leeann took the crown in the popular series, Family Food Fight, in November last year, charming audiences with their energy, personalities and good-natured bickering.

Also featuring will be Phoebe Wood, Food Director for delicious. magazine, and this year’s Parklands Food Fest ‘local heroes’ butchers Joe and Matt Papandrea from Wetherill Park institution Joe Papandrea Quality Meats.

The live cooking demonstrations at Parklands Food Fest 2018 will feature fruit, vegetables and other produce sourced from Western Sydney Parklands’ Urban Farms Precinct – a vast tract of commercial farmland that stretches through Eastern Creek and Horsley Park.

Currently, 35 hectares of the Parklands is utilised for commercial farming, with a further 25 hectares to be released over the coming few years. The Masterplan for the Urban Farms Precinct envisages a total area of around 160 hectares, criss-crossed by roads, cycle and bike paths, and featuring a dedicated ‘farm-gate trail’.

The full Parklands Food Fest Program, including live cooking demonstration times, will be published shortly and will be available on the event’s webpage, along with a full list of the 50 food and produce stallholders, workshops, live music and kids’ entertainment.
