WHAT is Parklands Food Fest?

Parklands Food Fest is a free event held annually at Lizard Log Park, Abbotsbury, in Western Sydney Parklands. 

This is the seventh annual Parklands Food Fest, and its Home Grown theme celebrates the best of Western Sydney’s food businesses.

This year's highlights include a live cooking demo from celebrated cookbook author and MasterChef Australia co-host, Matt PrestonFamily Food Fight winners, The Shahrouk Sisters, and Parklands Food Fest 'local hero', Joe Papandrea, from Joe Papandrea's Quality Meats a Wetherill Park butchery offering some of the finest cuts and sausages in Western Sydney.  

Food Fest-goers will also get to choose from 50 food, beverage and produce stalls including a new Marketplace section, watch live cooking demos and food and gardening workshops, and soak up live music and kids' activities.

And don't forget, Parklands Food Fest also sees the return of the Homegrown Bar (with local craft beers) and the popular Sweet Spot.

Parklands Food Fest will be held on Saturday 8 September 2018 from 10am to 4pm.

Parklands Food Fest 2018 will be held at Lizard Log Park in Western Sydney Parklands.

Entry is free and there is free parking on site.Entry to Lizard Log in Abbotsbury is at the roundabout on the Cnr of Cowpasture Rd and The Horsely Drive.

WHO can attend Parklands Food Fest?

Parklands Food Fest 2017 is a free community event - everyone is free and welcome to attend!

Will the event still run if it rains?

Yes, the event is rain, hail or shine.  It may be cancelled in extreme weather conditions.

If it is cancelled, a message will be posted on our website and social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter, so make sure you follow us to stay up to date.

Can I bring my dog?

Absolutely! Dogs are welcome to join the fun. However, we ask that you keep your dog on a leash at all times during the event at Lizard Log. We also ask that you keep your pooch away from food stalls at all time.

Warrigal Run at Bungarribee is the only off-leash dog area in the Parklands.


Please Note: ‘Restricted breeds’ or ‘dogs declared as dangerous’ are not allowed within Western Sydney Parklands.




How much does it cost?

Entry to Parklands Food Fest is FREE!

This year we are taking pre-registrations for free tickets - every one who pre-registers and scans their ticket at our Western Sydney Parklands Information Stall will receive a free Parklands goodie bag (while stocks last) and go in the draw to win a $250 meat voucher from local heroes Joe Papandrea Quality Meats!

Some vendors might offer EFTPOS facilities, but we suggest you bring some cash, just in case. 

Is there an ATM at Parklands Food Fest?

Yes. The location will be marked on the map in the program, or come and ask us at the Western Sydney Parklands marquee, just inside the amphitheatre entrance.

Just to be safe, however, we recommend you bring along cash for purchases as well.

Is there parking?

Yes. There is free parking available at the park. Please follow directions given by traffic controllers on the day.

We do encourage people to ride-share or use the FREE shuttle bus that will regularly loop between Fairfield Train Station, Stocklands Mall at Wetherill Park and the event at Lizard Log.

Is there accessible parking?

Yes, accessible parking will be available.

People requiring accessible parking WILL need to make themselves known to a traffic controller and present a valid disability parking permit so they can be directed to the next available accessible parking space.

How do I get there by public transport?

The easiest way to get to Parklands Food Fest via public transport is to travel to Fairfield Train Station and access the FREE return shuttle bus services from there.

Thanks to our transport partner, Fairfield City Council we have two FREE shuttle buses running between Fairfield Train Station, Stockland Mall Wetherill Park and the event site.

You can get to Fairfield Train Station the following ways:

From Central Station: Catch the T2 (Leppington via Granville) line (45 minutes direct) or the T1 or BMT to Parramatta where you change for the T5 (Cumberland)

From Blacktown: Catch the T5 Train Line (Cumberland towards Campbelltown) to Fairfield Station (32-minute direct train).

From Penrith, Mount Druitt & St Marys: Catch the T1 Train Line, changing at Parramatta Station. From Parramatta Station, change to 804 Bus Line (Parramatta to Liverpool vis Hinchinbrook) to Fairfield Station.

From Blue Mountains: Catch the BMT Train Line changing at Blacktown Station. From Blacktown Station, change to 800 Bus Line (Blacktown to Fairfield via Wetherill Park) to Fairfield Station.

From Liverpool: Catch the 904 Bus Line directly to Fairfield Station.

From Campbelltown: Catch the T2 Train Line changing at Liverpool Station. From Liverpool Station change to 904 Bus Line (Liverpool to Fairfield) directly to Fairfield Station.

What should I bring?

We recommend you bring:

  • a re-fillable drink bottle - you can fill these up at any of the free, fresh drinking water stations on-site
  • Your reusable cup, you will get a discount at our coffee stalls :)
  • a hat and sunscreen
  • and umbrella, in case of rain
  • cash or cards to purchase fresh food and other products
  • bags to carry any items you wish to take home

There are some seating and shaded areas to enjoy the free entertainment.

How will I know if the event is cancelled?

If the event is cancelled for any reason, a message will be broadcast through our social media channels and on this website.

What do I do if there is an emergency?

In case of an emergency, please follow the directions of Western Sydney Parklands staff and traffic controllers.


Are there activities for children?

Yes, there are lots of fun activities for children, including free face painting.

Ticketed rides such as the rock climbing, circus skills and inflatables are located in the Kids Zone near the Sweet Spot dessert alley.

Tickets can be purchased at $5 for 3 rides.

Is there food available?

Of course! Parklands Food Fest will have a  great selection of food and beverage options to purchase on the day.

This includes fresh farm produce, honey, bread, meats and various cuisines such as Vietnamese, Salvadoran pupusas, Korean BBQ, Frank's Lebanese, and more!

Is alcohol available?

Yes. The Home Grown Bar will be making a welcome return, offering a variety of locally-brewed Western Sydney craft beers and cider You must be over 18 years old to purchase and drink alcohol.

Responsible Service of Alcohol will be maintained during this event.
