Miguel Maestre says he loves the ‘magic’ of cooking. He’s the infectiously energetic chef who cooks for us weekly on Ten The Living Room (with Amanda Keller, Dr Chris Brown and Barry DeBois). Australia’s most famous Spaniard in the kitchen has a host of TV credits to his name – including Boys Weekend (with Manu Feildel, Gary Mehigan and Adrian Richardson) which aired in more than 100 countries worldwide. He’s also written two best-selling Spanish cookbooks: Miguel’s Tapas and Spanish Cooking and is the proud recipient of Spain’s Order of Civil Merits – the highest award a citizen can receive – bestowed on him by His Majesty the King of Spain for his extraordinary service to his homeland.
A food lover from a very young age, Miguel’s cooking style incorporates ingredients he grew up with in Murcia, in the south of Spain, with the fabulous fresh produce he’s found in his new Sydney home.
Before his TV life began, Miguel worked around the world and in a number of top Australian kitchens.
We’re so excited to be welcoming him back to Parklands Food Fest. As Miguel himself would say, “It’s going to be AMAZING!”
