Western Sydney Parklands

The Minister for Western Sydney adopted the Parklands Plan of Management 2020 on 25 January 2011.  The Parklands Plan of Management 2020 Supplement was adopted by the Minister for Environment, Minister for Heritage on 2 March 2014.

The Plan of Management (Plan) and accompanying Supplement provides a strong strategic management framework for the Parklands and assists the Western Sydney Parklands Trust in determining actions and priorities over the coming years. Over the last few years, the Trust has made substantial progress in achieving many of these goals in the Plan.

To ensure the Plan remains a valuable and relevant document for the future, the Trust in 2014 developed an accompanying Supplement to the original Plan. The Supplement updates the key priorities and sets out the opportunities to secure a sound financial base to deliver ongoing development of the Parklands. At the heart of the Supplement, is a commitment to ensure the Parklands remains a valuable recreational resource for residents and visitors.

The Supplement provides an update of work the Trust has achieved since 2010 as well as provides details on the proposed Business Hubs and other revenue generating opportunities that secure the long term, sustainable revenue base that is required for the development, maintenance, programs and activities in the Parklands.

Over the coming years the Trust will continue to work with organisations and individuals to take forward the actions and projects detailed in the Plan and Supplement.

The creation of the Plan and accompanying Supplement is an important step in securing the future of the Parklands and delivering the long term vision to meet the needs of Sydney's growing community.
