There are a number of activities which are detrimental to the Parklands, to the plants and wildlife which call the Parklands home and your fellow visitors. You can make a real difference to the health and ongoing wellbeing of the Parklands by:
- Not lighting fires - even small fires can lead to widespread damage
- Not using heat beads in the picnic areas (use the barbecues provided) - if not properly disposed of, heat beads can start fires or visitors might accidentally step on them
- Taking your litter away with you - part of taking care of the Parklands
- Keeping your dog on a leash whilst in the Parklands - some visitors can find dogs off their leash intimidating
- Not driving a car or riding a motorbike on the walking/cycle track or beyond the roads in picnic areas - the safety of visitors, and in particular children, in the picnic areas and on bike tracks is our priority
- Not dumping rubbish - the Parklands are an invaluable asset to be protected for the future
- Not playing loud or offensive music -everyone's comfort and enjoyment in the Parklands is important to us.
- Not bringing in jumping castles - these are not permitted in the Parklands due to problems surrounding public liability issues and participant control.
