Brendan Crotty - Chairman

 

Brendan Crotty is currently Chairman of the Property Industry Foundation and serves on the boards of a number of private development companies as well as the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, Brickworks Limited and Australand Funds Management Limited. Brendan is also a member of the City of Sydney Planning Committee.

Brendan was the Managing Director of Australand Holdings Limited for 17 years prior to his retirement in mid 2007. He was the inaugral Chair of the Green Building Council of Australia, a Director of Youthbuild Australia and the Australian National Training Authority and was awarded the Sir Phillip Lynch Award for outstanding service to the Australian housing industry in 1998.

He has tertiary qualifications in Surveying, Town Planning and Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Property Institute and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Brendan is a Life Member of the Housing Industry Association and a member of the Planning Institute of Australia.

He has been associated with the development of Western Sydney over many years and is committed to pursuing a sustainable future for the Parklands, its communities and its environment.

Alan Zammit AM

 

Alan Zammit has had an executive career spanning over 45 years in urban, regional and community development. He has extensive experience as a professional non-executive director, Board Chair and Chair and/or member of Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committees spanning multiple sectors including property, funds management, education, health, government and not-for-profit. 

Alan Zammit is presently managing director of UPDM Pty Limited, chairs the boards of Mulpha Norwest Pty Limited and Norwest Association Limited, and serves on the boards of Wentwest Limited and Affordable Community Housing Limited. 

With qualifications in accounting, business, local government administration and real estate, Alan is a Fellow of CPA Australia and of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. A member of the Order of Australia, Alan was this year made an Honorary Fellow of Western Sydney University in recognition of his services to the University over 20 years. 

Alan’s commitment to Western Sydney is further evidenced by his former roles as chair of the Salvation Army Western Sydney Advisory Board, member of the Greater Western Sydney Economic Development Board and chair of the Western Sydney Regional Development Organisation.

Diane Azzopardi
B.Comm(Acc), CA, CTA, JP

 

Diane is a Chartered Accountant who has been working in the profession since 1992. She has owned her own practice, Direct Accounting, in Penrith since 2001. She is an accountant who understands business and can tailor a service specific to customer requirements. She will work with her clients to get the best out of their business. Diane has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Western Sydney. She holds memberships with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA), the Taxation Institute of Australia (TIA) and the National Tax and Accountants’ Association (NTAA). She is a Registered Tax Agent and a Justice of the Peace. Diane is a Director on the Board of the Penrith Business Advisory Centre, a Board Member of the Nepean Medical Research Foundation and a Director of Penrith RSL Club. In 2005 Diane was a Finalist in the Sydney Business Review Business Woman of the Year Awards. Diane is committed to caring for the environment and wants to ensure that Western Sydney has a sustainable and healthy future.

Suellen Fitzgerald - Exec. Director
BSc(Bot), MLandArch. FAILA

 

Suellen Fitzgerald is the Executive Director of the Parklands Trust and is responsible for implementing the Board's strategic directions for the Parklands.

Suellen has a background as a consulting landscape architect to public and private industry across Australia and, more recently, held the positions of Manager, Sydney Open Space Strategy and Director, Office of Strategic Lands with the NSW Department of Planning. She is a Fellow and past NSW President of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.

Suellen is committed to achieving the Government's goal to create strong communities and healthy landscapes in Sydney and a sustainable future for the Parklands in the hearts and minds of western Sydney residents.

Julie Bindon

 

Julie Bindon is the founding Director and former Chair of JBA, the largest urban planning and development advisory firm in NSW with a staff of over 70 people.

A graduate in Town Planning, with post graduate qualifications in Land Economy, Julie is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA), a Certified Practicing Planner, an honorary Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Julie is currently a part time Director at JBA, a member of the University of NSW’s Built Environment Advisory Council (BEAC), UrbanGrowth’s Design Directorate expert panel and the Urban Development Industry Association’s Judging Panel for the Awards of Excellence.

Previous positions held include President of the Planning Institute of Australia (NSW), Member of the Heritage Council of NSW, Chair of the Planning Committee of the Property Council of Australia (NSW) and Member of the NSW Premier’s Urban Design Advisory Committee.

Marcus Ray

 

Marcus has 21 years' experience in planning and natural resources in the State Government. 

Marcus has been at the senior executive level in Government for 13 years focusing on service delivery, and planning policy and reform.

He was a lawyer in private practice for seven years before starting with government.
